# Venus of Hohle Fels (-40000)

Caves in the Swabian Jura have yielded some of the oldest known figurative art, including the mammoth-ivory Venus of Hohle Fels, the Lion-man of Hohlenstein-Stadel and bone flutes. Carved by early modern humans roughly 35,000 to 40,000 years ago, these objects are among the earliest evidence of art and music on Earth. The caves are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
