# Diocese of Bamberg (1007)

In 1007 Henry II founded the Diocese of Bamberg, which he richly endowed. He and his wife Kunigunde were later canonised, the only imperial couple to become saints. The old town of Bamberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
