# Conrad II and the Salians (1024)

After the Ottonian line died out, the princes elected Conrad II king in 1024. He founded the Salian dynasty and acquired the Kingdom of Burgundy in 1033. The empire now comprised Germany, Italy and Burgundy.

The Salians brought the empire to a peak of power.
