# Battle of Durbe and Prussian Uprising (1260)

On 13 July 1260 Samogitians crushed the Teutonic and Livonian knights at Durbe. The defeat triggered the Great Prussian Uprising, which lasted until 1274. The Order barely survived before reconquering Prussia.

## Why it matters
It was the Order's heaviest defeat of the thirteenth century.
