# Rudolf of Habsburg Elected (1273)

In 1273 the princes elected Count Rudolf of Habsburg king, seeing him as a weak candidate. He restored order and seized Austria from Ottokar II of Bohemia. The Habsburgs became Austria's ruling dynasty.
