# Hohenzollerns Receive Brandenburg (1415)

In 1415 King Sigismund granted the Margraviate of Brandenburg and its electoral dignity to Burgrave Frederick VI of Nuremberg, a Hohenzollern. The dynasty ruled Brandenburg, then Prussia, and finally the German Empire until 1918.
