# Augsburg Confession (1530)

At the Diet of Augsburg in 1530 Lutheran princes presented the Augsburg Confession drafted by Philip Melanchthon. It summarised Lutheran belief. It remains the principal confession of the Lutheran churches.

It defined Lutheranism as a separate church.
