# Battle of Mühlberg (1547)

On 24 April 1547 Charles V defeated the Protestant Schmalkaldic League at Mühlberg. Elector John Frederick of Saxony was captured. However, Charles was unable to reverse the Reformation.

It was the emperor's greatest victory over the Protestants.
