# Battle of Lützen (1632)

On 16 November 1632 the Swedes defeated Wallenstein at Lützen, but Gustavus Adolphus was killed. Sweden continued the war under Chancellor Oxenstierna. The war ground on for another sixteen years.

Protestant victory came at the cost of their greatest leader.
