# Battle of Fehrbellin (1675)

On 28 June 1675 Frederick William, the 'Great Elector' of Brandenburg, defeated a Swedish army at Fehrbellin. It was Brandenburg's first major independent victory. It began Brandenburg-Prussia's rise as a military power.
