# Siege of Vienna (1683)

On 12 September 1683 an imperial, German and Polish relief army under John III Sobieski defeated the Ottoman army besieging Vienna. The victory began the Habsburg reconquest of Hungary. It was a turning point in Ottoman-European relations.
