# Prussian Reforms (1807)

The October Edict of 1807 abolished serfdom in Prussia. Barons Stein and Hardenberg introduced municipal self-government and freedom of trade, while Scharnhorst and Gneisenau reformed the army. Jews were emancipated in 1812.
