# Congress of Vienna (1815)

The Congress of Vienna reorganised Europe in 1814-1815. On 8 June 1815 the German Confederation of 39 states was founded under Austrian presidency. Prussia gained the Rhineland and Westphalia.

It created a loose union of German states instead of a nation-state.
