# November Revolution (1918)

After the Kiel mutiny, revolution spread across Germany. On 9 November 1918 Philipp Scheidemann proclaimed a republic and Wilhelm II's abdication was announced; he fled to the Netherlands. All German monarchies fell.

It ended the monarchy and founded the first German republic.
