# Conquest of Thuringia (531)

In 531 the Frankish kings Theuderic I and Chlothar I, allied with Saxons, defeated the Thuringians on the Unstrut. The Thuringian kingdom became part of the Frankish realm. Frankish power now reached deep into central Germany.

It extended Frankish control to the heart of Germany.
