# Battle of Pressburg (907)

In July 907 a Bavarian army was annihilated by Magyar horsemen near Pressburg. Margrave Luitpold and many Bavarian nobles and bishops were killed. For half a century Magyar raids devastated Germany.

## Why it matters
The defeat exposed the East Frankish kingdom to decades of raids.
